Waxholmsfaryget
Västan
former Nya Svartsjölandet

The
ship was engaged in the Lake Mälaren service and was at that time having
the name
"Svartsjölandet". In 1937 she was bought by Waxholm Steamboat
Co. In 1938 she was
renamed "Västan" and served on different routes in the central
archipelago.
1953 she had steamengine replaced by a dieselengine giving 360 HP. This
change made her
to one of the fastest ships in the archipelago fleet. She stayed serving
the central
archipelago up to 1965.
