The ship was engaged in the Lake Mälaren service and was at that time having the name
"Svartsjölandet". In 1937 she was bought by Waxholm Steamboat Co. In 1938 she was
renamed "Västan" and served on different routes in the central archipelago.
1953 she had steamengine replaced by a dieselengine giving 360 HP. This change made her
to one of the fastest ships in the archipelago fleet. She stayed serving the central
archipelago up to 1965.

The model of "Västan" was built by Niklas at a scale 1/25,
giving a length of 130 centimeters.
Radiocontrol gives following funchtions: Rudder, forward/astern
and speed of the electric motor. The hull is made in glass fibre and after  one´s own hand fabricated mould.
